An exhibition of drawing and video, shown at the Campus Gallery, Georgian College, Barrie, Ontario

This work is an attempt to give solid form to intangible concepts and emotional states such as joy, rage, sexual desire or intimacy.  Even when the work takes the form of two-dimensional drawing it is vital to me that the marks come together to create an object so real that the viewer knows its texture, volume and weight.  In so doing I create a world with its own rationale, however chaotic; a world of function, relationship, dysfunction, space and movement.  A world with no concern for what’s external to it, no reference to conventional notions of form, composition or beauty, where every gesture, color and structural decision is triggered by an internal urge.
