BROKEN COUNTRY

by Claire Leslie Hall

This relationship novel, full of plot turns and twists, keep surprising right up to the final pages. I loved it, found myself totally engrossed, and staying up late to find out what happens. The narrative mostly alternates, chapter by chapter, between the present (1968) and the past, spinning a web of moral dilemmas, impossible choices, and unexpected events. It's a book about fate, forgiveness, and how one wrong choice can impact so much and so many.
