Consider Yourself Kissed
by Jessica Stanley
This book starts with the best-ever meet-cute, is filled with great flirtatious banter, and very English. But it’s more than just the rom-com the title suggests, it’s a contemporary romance that explores themes of self-discovery, love, the challenges of modern womanhood, and offers incisive political commentary on Brexit-era Britain. The writing is charming, warm, heartfelt, funny and truly authentic, but perhaps the real reason I enjoyed it is that it’s set in the street where I used to live in London, and all the locations mentioned are my old haunts.
